Dawson Duane | Newborn Session
On September 20th 2015, Dawson Duane came into this world and made the Gillis family a little bit bigger and a whole lot happier. The day of the newborn session was the first time I got to meet little Dawson in person. You could see how his Mama was glowing as I got introduced. He was wide awake and very alert in the beginning of the session, just taking in his surroundings.
We quickly figured out that he did not like to be wrapped like a burrito (swaddled). He needed his little arms out to move around. He quickly fell back asleep once the pictures got underway. Being born into a farm family, we felt it was only right to put him in his "Future Farmer" onsie. And boy does he look adorable in it. And as a strong supporter of agriculture I can really appreciate a kid who wants to be a farmer when he grows up!
Big Sister Brooke was having a rough day (and who wouldn't when you suddenly are no longer the only child) and so as Sam took Brooke with her to find Darren, Dawson and I had a little bonding time. I mean to be fair the little angel slept the whole time his Mama was gone but he did so well. You know what the best part about having family with babies? I can play with the babies and kids all day and at the end of the day I can send them back to their parents! (Just kidding! Sorta...) But seriously can we just admire how adorable he is while he's asleep?!
We finished off the evening with some family pictures. The happiness from this family is evident through these pictures and even though Brooke doesn't look like it, I know she is excited for her little brother and I know she will be the best, most protective big sister ever.
So welcome into the world little Dawson. You have come into a wonderful, loving family and I can't wait to see you grow. P.S. I've already got a cake smashed for your first birthday and your parents don't even know about it yet!
